The results of the 2008
Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) confirm the internationally excellent work of the Centre for Tourism and Cultural Change (CTCC), along with its partners at Leeds Metropolitan University, the International Centre for Responsible Tourism and the UK Centre for Events Management. Some 75% of the work in the
Unit of Assessment which covers tourism is assessed as being of an international standard in terms of originality, significance and rigour, and this includes research rated as world leading (4
«) and internationally excellent (3
«).
The results of RAE place Leeds Metropolitan University in the top 6 institutions in the UK with regard to tourism’s Unit of Assessment. The Official Report of the RAE Panel commended the good infrastructure for the support and supervision of research students, the experience of staff and, in recognition of our global research networks, emphasised the “existence of strong collaborations, from within the region, nationally and internationally.”
